Norman Reedus Just Got Us Pumped For The Walking Dead Season 7
The Walking Dead is a show that has managed to both create a fabulous cast of characters to root for and to establish a world in which those characters can be horrifically killed off at any given moment. It’s fun to watch, but it can also be exhausting, and the Season 6 finale had such an heavy ending that fans might have a hard time lightening up enough to get excited about Season 7. Now, Daryl Dixon himself Norman Reedus has dropped a tantalizing tease about Season 7, and he has us pumped for what’s next.
Norman Reedus managed to avoid dropping any spoilers in his chat with EW, but he definitely said enough for us to look forward to what the next season brings. Season 6 ended on such a bummer of a cliffhanger that it’s been hard to decide between wanting to know who Negan killed and not wanting to have to mourn a favorite character that got a face full of Lucille. Reedus’ promise that the show reaches a new height in Season 7 gives a reason to have hope for more than just who survived the cliffhanger.
Spoilers for Season 7 have been pretty few and far between, since filming didn't start that long ago, so we can only guess at this point about what has Norman Reedus so psyched. Based on his comments, it’s probably somewhat safe to say that Daryl wasn’t the one to be killed in the final moments of Season 6. If he does survive, we can take from Reedus’ words that Daryl will likely have some new and exciting things to do in the next chapter of his life in the zombie apocalypse. Personally, I’ll be on board if some of those new and exciting things involve a haircut and/or a shower.
We do know that we’re in for some new characters in Season 7. The show has started casting for a man who has been hardened by his life so far in the zombie apocalypse as well as for a scruffy teen boy. Season 6 brought the Hilltop Colony out and half-teased the settlement of The Kingdom, and Season 7 is set to bring us King Ezekiel and possibly his tiger Shiva.
Unfortunately, we still have a while before we’ll get to see Norman Reedus back as Daryl and any of these new characters in action. Take a look at our breakdown of what we know so far about The Walking Dead Season 7 for a peek ahead, and check out our summer TV premiere schedule to see what you can watch in the meantime.
