With ABC’s Off The Map off the TV line-up due to cancellation, actress Caroline Dhavernas is apparently available to move on to other projects. Word is, Dhavernas has signed on to play the female lead in the USA pilot Over/Under.
Over/Under is a USA pilot about a day trader named Paul (played by Steven Pasquale), who loses his job after losing millions of dollars of his firm’s money. This may or may not have something to do with a “massive gambling problem” he’s dealing with. Out of work, Paul and his wife move to Brooklyn where he ends up starting up a high-end bookie business alongside an expectant father named Marino (played by Anthony Carrigan). According to Deadline Caroline Dhavernas is set to play Paul’s wife, who’s described as “a professional photographer specializing in nude portraits and a devoted Manhattanite,” which I assume means she won’t be happy with the move to Brooklyn.
Dhavernas has a number of TV credits to her name, including a role in Wonderfalls and as mentioned earlier, she co-starred in Off the Map playing Dr. Lily Brenner. The medical drama series with a jungle twist didn’t take off, but Over/Under sounds much more interesting. I've been excited for it since it was announced that Rescue Me's Steven Pasquale was on board to star. Hopefully things will work out for it and it'll go to series, joining USA's other great shows.
