Once Upon a Time is adding another new character to the already long list of storybook names come to life. Chad Michael Collins is coming on board to play a character related to one of the residents of Storybrooke whose true identity was revealed in a recent episode. Warning - if you’re behind on Once Upon a Time, there are some spoilers ahead.
The fifth episode of the season, "The Doctor," revealed the identity of Dr. Whale, who has been around since the first season and was somewhat overdue for his reveal given how many new characters have popped up since. Turns out he’s none other than Dr. Frankenstein, and his appearance is pivotal in turning Regina to the dark side. The latest casting news tells us we’re not done with his storyline; it seems Chad Michael Collins has been tapped to play Dr. Whale’s brother, which would make him Dr. Frankenstein’s brother as well. Once Upon a Time’s version of the Frankenstein story hints he may be another reanimated corpse, which didn’t work out too well the first time.
Chad Michael Collins, who recently appeared on Last Resort and Major Crimes is set to show up in the twelfth episode of the season, according to TV Line. It’s a one-episode appearance, so it will be interesting to see how he fits in. The episode doesn’t have an air date yet, but it will be in early 2013 most likely. Once Upon a Time airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
