Once Upon A Time Is Off To A Good Start, What Did You Think?
Once Upon a Time’s happy ending may be far off, if the series continues to do as well as it did in the ratings during last night’s series premiere on ABC. The fantasy/drama series, which combines fairytales with the modern day world, managed to be the most watched non-sports program of the evening.
TV Line posted the news and the numbers, stating that ABC’s Once Upon a Time took in 12.8 million total viewers, earning itself a 3.9 demo rating. The series premiere was up against football on NBC and baseball on Fox. While the World Series isn’t exactly breaking records among viewers this season, the competition could have affected how well ABC’s new drama did. Either way, things are looking up for the new series.
Once Upon a Time follows familiar fairytale characters who have been cursed and banished to our world and now live in a small New England town called Storybrooke, where they have no memory of who they once were. You can read our full review of the premiere here. As TV Line notes, not only did OUAT manage to double what unscripted home-makeover series Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was bringing in for ABC on Sunday nights at 8:00, but it also scored the network’s biggest audience for that time period with regular programming since 2008. Let’s hope things continue to go as well for the series.
