New Outlander Trailer Teaser Arrives And Claire Gets A 'Missing' Poster
Starz is prepping for a new Outlander trailer, but if fans of Diana Gabaldon's series of novels and the anticipated Ronald D. Moore adaptation want to see it, they're going to have to work for it. Well, "work" is a relative term. Fans are encouraged to share the link in order to unlock the trailer. In the meantime, the above video gives us a look at the new trailer, which focuses on Claire Randall, who's about to go missing.
The trailer tease comes courtesy of Yahoo, along with the photo below, which shows Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall, a happily married WWII combat nurse who's on holiday in Scotland with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) when she visits a strange rock formation and finds herself thrown back through time.
The trailer teaser cuts out right around the point that Claire disappears, leaving us to wait for what will hopefully be more and new footage from the 18th century Scotland part of the story, which is where/when most of the first book in Diana Gabaldon's series is set. Fans are likely eager to get more glimpses of Claire with Jamie (Sam Heughan), the gallant young Scottish warrior with whom Claire is forced to marry.
In order for the full trailer to be released, Starz is encouraging fans to go to OutlanderCommunity.com and share the link on Twitter and Facebook, using the hashtag #WhereIsClaire. Here's a look at the Missing poster:
Given that we know Claire's gone time-travelin', it's unlikely that anyone will be collecting that reward anytime soon. But it's fun to look at the information listed on the poster, which offers a few details about the character, including that she's a 28-year-old nurse, relatively tall with dark brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen leaving Mrs. Baird's B&B in Inverness. And she was on her way to Craigh na Dun in a Rover P2. Craigh na Dun is the location of the rock formation where Claire disappears. It's also one of the phrases taught to us in the series of Speak Outlander videos.
Hopefully fans will get to clicking so Starz can release the full trailer to us. It won't be the first Outlander preview. Starz has released a number of trailers for the series, though they still haven't announced the official premiere date for the drama. We're guessing August (read our speculation commentary at the bottom of this article), but as we said, Starz hasn't announced it yet, so we'll keep you posted!
