Presidential Candidates Talk It Out On MTV Special Tonight
This Tuesday more than twenty states will be holding their primaries and caucuses. It’s likely that there are plenty of young people out there who are still unsure as to which candidate they’d like to see running under the democratic or republican ticket in this year’s presidential election. Tonight, thanks to MySpace, MTV and the Associated Press, the candidates have the chance to win over the youth voting bloc by speaking during the live broadcast, Closing Arguments: A Presidential Super Dialogue.
Not all of the presidential hopefuls have been confirmed to be in attendance for the event. Of those scheduled to appear on the special, which will air on MTV tonight (2/2) at 6:00 p.m. EST and broadcast live online on MySpace and MTV’s Choose or Lose website are Senator Barack Obama, Representative Ron Paul, Senator Hillary Clinton and Governor Mike Huckabee. McCain and Romney were also invited to attend but neither has been confirmed.
Viewers at MTV and MySpace’s websites as well as those present at MTV’s Times Square Studio in New York will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions. Each candidate will have the floor for about 15-20 minutes. Flektor.com will be on hand to poll the event, giving viewers the chance to vote while they watch to indicate their approval or disapproval of the candidates responses.
So if you’re still undecided about who to vote for or, perhaps you’re not even planning to vote this week but you’re tired of nodding and pretending like you know what people are talking about whenever the subject of the election comes up in conversation, check it out. The whole thing could be interesting.
