Producer And Writer David Mills Dies At 48
David Mills was a name attached to many high quality series over the past twenty years. At the age of 48, while working on the forthcoming HBO series Treme, which he was attached to as head writer and executive producer, Mills passed collapsed on the set and passed away from a brain aneurysm, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.
Mills was a multi-Emmy winner for HBO's The Corner, and received multiple nominations for his work as writer and producer on the network series ER and NYPD Blue. He was involved with other critically acclaimed series like Homicide: Life on the Street, The Wire and served as a story editor for Picket Fences. In 2003, he created HBO's well-received mini-series Kingpin.
While Mills collapsed mid-production on the first season of Treme, which premieres April 11, 2010, there has been no indication on how his passing might affect the production of the season, or if there will be any delays in airing later episodes.
