Ray Donovan Series Premiere: Watch The Full Episode Of Showtime's New Drama Here
Don't have Showtime? That doesn't mean you can't watch the first episode of the premium cable network's new drama Ray Donovan. The series won't officially premiere until next Sunday night, but Showtime has made the full episode available for viewing, mostly in its entirety. They usually edit out some of the more R-rated content, so the above video may have been tweaked a bit from what airs next Sunday. Fortunately, Ray Donovan's not really a show about nudity, so that shouldn't have a devastating impact on the online version.
What is Ray Donovan about? The answer to your question is in the video above, but if you don't have an hour to kill just yet, the series stars Liev Schreiber as the title character, a Boston tough guy living with his wife and kids in Los Angeles and making his money fixing the problems and cleaning up the messes of the Hollywood elite. Some guy wakes up with a dead body in his bed, he calls Ray first. While Ray is tough enough to handle the grittiest of issues and the bossiest of people, he's also just refined enough to fit in among the people he works for, and that's an act Schreiber's fully capable of pulling off, which makes him the perfect choice for a role like this. As Donovan, Schreiber is dark, a little mysterious and just the right amount of intimidating, without being off-putting. Also among the cast are Paula Malcolmson, who plays Ray's wife, Abby. Eddie Marsan and Dash Mihok play Ray's brothers. Katherine Moennig, Pooch Hall, Seven Bauer, Kerris Dorsey and Devon Bagby also star. And then, of course, there's Jon Voight, who plays Mickey Donovan, Ray's estranged father, who's about to pop back into his and his family's life, much to Ray's dismay.
Showtime has made the first episode available on their website, YouTube and through select television providers' free On Demand channels and websites, as well as Showtime On Demand and their app Showtime Anytime. The early release of the new drama, which makes its official debut on Showtime on Sunday, June 30 at 10:00 p.m. after Dexter's season premiere, will hopefully generate some buzz for the new series, and maybe even convince people to subscribe. From what we've seen of Ray Donovan and what we know of Dexter, Sunday nights are about to get a bit more thrilling and suspenseful for Showtime subscribers.
