Ready For A Look At Lucy Lawless In Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
Lucy Lawless' anticipated arrival on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is one more reason to look forward to the show's Season 2 return, and today Marvel has given us our first look at the Xena: Warrior Princess star in her role in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. Vague spoiler alert (or big spoiler alert if you're not caught up through Season 1!)
Some of us know her as Xena. Some of us know her as Lucretia from Spartacus. For some, she'll always be a Three (in a good way) from Battlestar Galactica. And ok, to some of us, she's also the excellent Diane Lewis from Parks and Recreation. In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Lucy Lawless is Agent Isabelle Hartley.
Marvel describes Agent Hartley as a seasoned S.H.I.E.L.D. veteran who's helping to rebuild the organization.
Is she actually "helping" though? The words "seasoned" and "veteran" as applied to a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent don't automatically offer the kind of clout they once did, I'm sure, when we consider the fact that those words could be applied to John Garrett (Bill Paxton) and he turned out to be Hydra. Sometimes S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are Hydra...

Is it possible that Hartley is Hydra and her efforts to "help" rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. come with their own agenda? Anything is possible, and we know full well that Lucy Lawless is as good at showing off her dark side as she is her heroic side. So we're eying her skeptically for the time being, but excited to see her settle in.
As for the photo, there isn't much to go on here, other than that she's kind of smiling and her expression could be considered dubious, or mysterious, or secretly-planning-evil-things.
