We’ve seen quite a few issues and disorders demonstrated on MTV’s The Real World over the last couple decades. As I haven’t watched the series regularly since the ‘90’s, I’m not sure if “cutting” has ever been featured on the show in the past but tomorrow night’s episode addresses the subject after a fight between two houseguests leads to one of them taking out her frustration on herself.
Self mutilation or “cutting” is a pretty serious issue and from what I understand, involves a person intentionally cutting themselves as way to deal with their stress or personal issues. During tomorrow night’s Real World: Cancun episode, Ayiia is caught cutting herself after she and CJ have a blow-up. It should be interesting to see how the series deals with the issue.
