The Real World Heads To DC
While The Real World: Cancun is set to premiere later this month, According to the Hollywood Reporter MTV announced today that the 23rd season of the popular reality series will be taking place in our nation’s capital.
It seems like MTV has some sort of a pattern here. Last season, the show took place in New York and the drama and partying wasn’t all that major. Sure, we saw a table get broken, an alarm clock chucked out the window and a giant photo of one of the houseguests defaced but by Real World standards, that kind of wackiness is pretty timid. The upcoming season is set to take place in Cancun, the ultimate spring break location for college kids, so I think we can expect a lot of partying and more drama of the hooking up variety. And next season, it’s back to a “serious” location, with the next batch of seven (or is it eight now?) houseguests moving in together somewhere in Washington, DC. Hopefully the network will take advantage of the backdrop by casting a group of people with vastly differing political ideologies. Gotta love a young adult with a cause right? How about a whole house full of them?
Here’s the trailer for The Real World: Cancun, which premieres on Wednesday June 24th at 10 PM ET/PT.on MTV:
