Reality Series In Development For Bacon Boys Justin Esch And David Lefkow
I love bacon. Those who know me know, I believe bacon is the ultimate addition to any meal. I see it as the candy of meats. Bacon is the star of many a culinary show in my home, but the star of an actual reality show? Well, that’s new. It turns out there’s actually a series in development surrounding two men known as The Bacon Boys, whose quest to put bacon everywhere could soon be shared on television.
The two buddies, Justin Esch and David Lefkow started an empire when they invented Bacon Salt from notes on a cocktail napkin in 2007. Today J&D Foods, whose slogan is “Everything should taste like bacon” offers products including bacon gravy, bacon popcorn, bacon croutons and even a bacon lip balm. Oh, and bacon lube. Did I mention the bacon lube? They most recently invented the bacon coffin, allowing you to go to your grave surrounded in delicious bacon-y goodness. And now, Deadline reports the two are working with LMNO Prods. to develop a reality series surrounding their bacon-loving lives.
LMNO is behind a variety of reality genre shows including Unusual Suspects and The Little Couple and focuses on unscripted television. They have certainly come up with a new one this time; in an age when reality television has reached new lows and plumbed the depths of just about every possible quirk of the human condition, LMNO could bring us The Bacon Boys.
Now, I have stated that I love bacon, and I stand by that. But clearly these two guys leave me well in the dust in their love for delicious breakfast meats. Are the interesting enough to watch on television though? That’s hard to say, but I admit to curiosity as to where they will apply the bacon next.
