Red Widow Preview: Watch The Trailer For ABC's Suspenseful Looking Drama
Joining ABC at some point during the 2012-2013 season is Red Widow, a drama based on a Dutch series called Penoza. Red Widow stars Radha Mitchell as a woman whose husband is murdered, leaving her to look after their children and figure out how to move forward, which may involve heading down a dark and dangerous path.
It's looking like we may have to wait until midseason for this series, which is a shame as the premise has real potential. Check out ABC's description below the cast photo…
There are a couple of things that jump out in the description, like the focus on a woman who's familiar with the world of organized crime through her family but was trying to live a life away from it. So she's knowledgable and probably more streetwise than the average housewife, but she doesn't prefer that world. And then her husband is killed, which pulls her into the game, as she aims to take on both sides of the fight (FBI and gangsters) to try to get to the bottom of what happened to her husband. Depending on how Marta's developed as a character, there's potential for a great story here. Check out the trailer ahead…
Again, it's easy to see the potential based on what we're shown in the above video. I'll be eager to see how the story is fully introduced in the trailer and where it goes from there. Hopefully ABC won't wait too long to get this one on the air.
