Revenge Episode 13 Preview: An Order And A Major Request
This week’s Revenge has a certain character asking another character a very important question. That may seem like a spoiler, but anyone who’s been watching the series regularly knows what’s coming and we have the video that shows it happening. That’s as vague as I’ll be about the situation, so consider that your spoiler warning!
Since the series premiere, we’ve known that Daniel and Emily would end up engaged at some point. Revenge opens with a party that features the announcement of Emily and Daniel’s engagement. Over the course of the series’ run so far, we’ve seen Emily and Daniel growing closer, however the leap from newly in love to engaged seemed to have been inspired by Conrad’s strategy to keep Daniel from coming into his trust. In an effort to satisfy the “marriage clause,” Daniel is prepared to propose to Emily. That’s on the menu for Wednesday night’s episode, as is a confrontation between Amanda and Victoria. Check out the video below...
Couple of interesting things about the above scene. First, has Huntley seen Amanda? Because, if I recall correctly, a dark-wigged Emily (real Amanda) was shown meeting with him in a flashback, so it would seem like he would know that this Amanda Clarke was a fake... unless he’s not sure, which would explain getting the finger prints.
Also, from what Amanda said, it seems like maybe Emily told her that Victoria burned the writer’s house down and left the lighter in the office to make it seem like Amanda did it. That would explain Emily’s thinking in leaving such an obvious piece of evidence in the man’s house after burning it down. So Amanda is suspected of arson, but thinks it was Victoria who was trying to frame her, as opposed to Emily.
Moving on, this video is obviously way more spoilerly, as it reveals Daniel’s proposal. If you’d rather wait until Wednesday night to see the quasi-romantic moment, turn back now!
From the way he did it, string-quartet and all, it would appear that he hasn’t brought Emily in on the marriage-clause situation, which is a bit misleading. Assuming that’s the case, it’s disappointing, considering he supposedly loves Emily. Maybe bringing up how marrying her would benefit him financially would take some of the romance out of the situation, but keeping it a secret (assuming he is) is sort of starting off the engagement on the wrong foot. Of course, we all know where this is is headed anyway, and it isn’t like Emily doesn’t already know Daniel’s motives. (Victoria knows she knows too.)
