Rosemary's Baby Teaser Has Zoe Saldana Pregnant And In Distress
Following up on the very teasy Rosemary's Baby teaser, NBC has offered us a slightly better look at their anticipated miniseries, which is based on the 1967 best-selling suspense novel by Ira Levin. This new video gives us a look at a distressed Zoe Saldana as the title character, and her husband Guy, played by Suits star Patrick J. Adams. At the beginning, Rosemary seems happy and pregnant. But she's looking a lot less joyous as we see her panicking over a nose bleed. Judging by her reaction, this isn't the first thing to go wrong during this pregnancy.
While Roman Polanski's film had the story set in New York City, NBC's adaptation, which comes from Joshua D. Maurer, Alixandre Witlin and David Stern, will move the tale to Paris where Rosemary and her husband Guy have have begun to settle in to their new city and have befriended their neighbors, the Castevets, a well-to-do older couple who take this young married couple under their wings. Everything things to be going well as Rosemary gets pregnant and Guy's career takes off. But then things start going wrong for Rosemary, health wise, which doesn't go unnoticed by her friend Julie (Christina Cole). From there...
NBC has this set up as a four-hour two-part miniseries, which will premiere at some undetermined date. There is no premiere date set for it. But considering they've begun the process of promoting it, I'm going to guess there's a date coming soon. In the meantime, it'll be great to see Zoe Saldana on the small screen, and it's also worth noting that Rosemary's Baby will bring Jason Isaacs back to NBC, as he starred in the unfortunately short-lived high-concept drama Awake. As great as it was seeing him play a good guy in that series, as a Harry Potter fan, I think I prefer him in more sinister roles. So it'll be exciting to see how he takes on the part of Roman Casevet.
Here's the previously released teaser and poster...
