Roswell's Majandra Delfino To Play A Schrute In The Potential Office Spinoff

Roswell's Majandra Delfino is joining the Schrute clan for what could be an Office spin-off, if all goes well for the project in development. The Office's Paul Lieberstein is penning the script for the project, which will focus on Dwight Schrute and his off-beat (or off-beet) family of Pennsylvania beet farmers, and Delfino has been cast to play the role of Dwight's sister.

Earlier this summer, the update on the potential Office spin-off, titled The Farm, included word that the story involving Dwight's family would be introduced at some point during the upcoming ninth season of the NBC comedy series, after which they'd make a decision on whether or not to move forward with it as a separate series.

At that time, we also had details on some of the characters being written into the show, one of whom was his younger sister Fannie, who's described as a single mother with left-leaning views, who left Scranton to live in Boston. According to EW, Delfino has been cast in this role. The site doesn't mention anything about her being a single mother, so it's possible that situation has changed (or it just wasn't mentioned). Regardless, her choice to move to the city when she grew up suggests she was never much of a farm girl at heart, so perhaps she'll clash with Dwight in that respect.

In addition to her role in Roswell, Delfino also appeared in Quarterlife, and more recently, played the BFF to Raven-Symone's Georgia Chamberlain in ABC Family's short-lived comedy series State of Georgia.

At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way).
