Rudolph, Frosty And Victoria's Secret Featured On CBS Holiday Lineup

CBS is celebrating the holidays this year with a few classic TV specials in addition to a couple of musically enhanced events and even a popular fashion show featuring holiday-themed underwear. What could be more Christmassy than that? The holiday lineup for CBS all starts off with the network’s broadcast of the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS - (9:00 AM-Noon, Live ET)

Dave Price and Maggie Rodriguez of CBS News' The Early Show host CBS’s broadcast of the big parade. Guests include Clay Aiken and CBS soap star Jessica Leccia.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT)

Poor Rudolph is the local outcast, what with his blinking red nose. Despite knowing that little Rudolph will prevail, this 1964 holiday special is still a must-watch during the holiday season.

The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!! – Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night - (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT)

While the Grammy’s don’t actually take place until February 8th, this one-hour special includes the announcements of the nominations in six of the categories. There were also be performances by previous nominees and winners. The event will also celebrate the grand opening of the Grammy Museum. Celine Dion, Foo Fighters, B.B. King, John Mayer and Taylor Swift are among those scheduled to perform.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show - (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)

Supermodels show off Victoria’s Secrets lingerie, including some sexy holiday-themed numbers. Usher is set to perform and there will also be red carpet interviews, model profiles and a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making the fashion show

Frosty the Snowman - (8:00-8:30 PM, ET/PT)

The animated special tells the tale of that adorable snowman who comes to life and celebrates the winter. Watch out for the sun, Frosty!

Elf - (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) If this hilarious and heartwarming Will Ferrell Christmas comedy isn’t considered a classic yet, well… I’m declaring it one now. This is the story of Buddy the Elf. He’s not actually an elf but he was raised in the North Pole and returns to New York City to find his real father, whom he learns has landed himself on the “naughty” list.

Tuesday, Dec. 23

The 10th Annual A Home for the Holidays with Faith Hill - (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) This one-hour special features inspirational stories about adoption as well as performances by Faith Hill, Melissa Etheridge, Gavin Rossdale, Jamie Foxx and others. Kristin Chenoweth, Patricia Heaton, Rene Russo, Martin Short and other celebrities will present stories about adoption.

Tuesday, Dec. 30

The 31st Annual Kennedy Center Honors - (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT)

Actor Morgan Freeman, singer George Jones, director, actress, singer, writer, composer and producer Barbra Streisand, choreographer Twyla Tharp, and musicians Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey of The Who will receive this year's honors. In this star-studded celebration, the 2008 Honorees will be saluted by great performers from Hollywood and the arts capitals of the world. Seated with President and Mrs. Bush, the Honorees will accept the thanks of their peers and fans through performances and tributes. Caroline Kennedy returns as host.
