Saturday Night Live's Taran Killam Set To Guest Star On Community

Could things be getting musical for Community’s holiday episode? Based on the description for the character guest-star Taran Killam is set to play, there’s a definitely chance of that. Word is, the Saturday Night Live funny-man is set to make an appearance on the NBC series.

According to TV Line, Killam, whose face you may recognize from Saturday Night Live, is set to appear on Community this December to help the gang ring in the holidays. He’s set to play a “kooky choir director,” which has me thinking there will be holiday cheer of the musical kind.

Killam hasn’t quite burst out of SNL as one of the big players yet, but he has contributed to some extremely funny sketches, including the one where Melissa McCarthy guzzled ranch dressing for our entertainment, and I think it's only a matter of time before he becomes a bigger name on the series.

And here he is as one of the creepy animatronic Merryville Brothers.

Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
