Scandal Returns Tonight: 'Ride, Sally, Ride,' Description Teases A 'Bombshell Announcement'

Scandal returns tonight for its Spring premiere with "Ride, Sally, Ride." While the teaser above promises 100% Scandal insanity -- and 8 episodes with no repeats!-- the description for this week's episode (not to mention the title) indicates that this will be a very Sally heavy episode...

“Ride, Sally, Ride” – The White House deals with a bombshell announcement from Sally Langston. Meanwhile, Olivia finds herself in a challenging new role, on ABC’s “Scandal,” THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

It's been months since we've seen any new Scandal, so it'll be very interesting to see where this season picks up, especially as it relates to Sally, who's been at a major crossroads since she killed her husband. What kind of big announcement does she have and is this image a preview of her getting ready for it with Leo?

Sally and Leo

It looks like they're praying.

And speaking of Sally, remember how James tried to convince David that the Vice President killed her husband and David didn't believe him?...

Looks like David believes him now. Except now James is the White House Press Secretary, so that ship may have sailed for David, at least as far as James' involvement goes.

It's not entirely about Sally though. The preview teases Rowan telling Olivia, "Everyone should be very afraid. If I were you, I would be terrified." I'm going to guess that he's not threatening her here, but warning her about her mother being out there, planning who-knows-what? If anyone knows what the woman is truly capable of, it would be Rowan.

And then there's Olivia and Mellie, who are featured in this tense sneak peek...

So awkward.

In anticipation of tonight's return, ABC released this music video celebrating in all of the angsty drama that is the Fitz-Olivia-Jake love triangle...

All of these are just appetizers for the main course, which happens when Scandal airs tonight (Thursday) at 10:00 p.m. ET on ABC!
