Scandal Season 2, Episode 20 'A Woman Scorned' Promo Teases Tension In The White House

Up until last Thursday's episode, we've had a semi-break from Fitz and Olivia's steamy love affair on Scandal. With Fitz stewing in the feelings of anger and betrayal over her part in the Defiance election scandal, interactions between the two once lovers has been scattered and tense at best. But (spoilers if you aren't caught up!) Olivia's trip to the hospital seems to have snapped Fitz out of his anger and he's back to wanting her back, no matter what it costs him. The promo for this week's "A Woman Scorned" focuses heavily on their relationship, and from what it looks like, Mellie is also willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants, even if it comes at the cost of the President's reputation.

In addition to Mellie's ultimatum, which forces Cyrus to be the "fixer" in this mess of a situation, the episode description for "A Woman Scorned" also reveals that Olivia's team continues their investigation into the mole situation, which leads them to "a shocking discovery." What could it be?

SCANDAL - "A Woman Scorned" - The team continue their investigation into the mole and make a shocking discovery in the process. Meanwhile Fitz orders Jake to continue to protect Olivia, who is still very much in danger, and back at the White House Mellie's ultimatum forces Cyrus into the role of "fixer," on "Scandal," THURSDAY, MAY 2 (10:02-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

There's no mention of Jake in the above description, but the photos below indicate that Olivia and Jake will have a run-in. Based on these photos, I'm thinking they were on the phone with one another when he showed up at her door.

Will Jake be honest with Olivia about what's going on? And how will Olivia deal with whatever he has to tell her?

"A Woman Scorned is one of the three remaining episodes in the second season of Scandal, after which we have to hope that ABC will renew the series for a third season. In the meantime, we also have an appearance by John Barrowman to look forward to before the season wraps up.
