Scandal Season 2: Trailer For A Criminal, A Whore, An Idiot And A Liar

Stop reading if you haven't seen last night's Scandal! The following article contains spoilers from last night's "One for the Dog".

Scandal has been making the most of the assassination attempt on Fitz, not only using it for a thrilling whodunnit (and will they try to do it again) mystery, with Huck taking the brunt of the interrogation (torture), but also creating drama and tension in the White House and at the President's bedside. Fortunately, Fitz is awake! Finally. Not a minute too soon, nor too late either, his eyes are open and now the show can deal with the character a bit more directly as he deals with his injury, which may affect his ability to run the country.

The focus of the promo for next Thursday's "A Criminal, a Whore, an Idiot and a Liar" is on Fitz's frontal lobe injury.

I want to believe that the intensity of the scenes we're teased in the above promo is really more of a reflection on Olivia's and Cyrus' concerns/fears over Fitz' health and behavior, rather than the extent of the problems himself. In other words, I'm hoping they're building all of this up to be much bigger than it is and that Fitzgerald will have this stuff together enough to handle the job.

Fitz's health isn't the only subject set to be explored. The video did show us a little kiss between Olivia and Fitz, and the episode description below mentions things getting heated between Olivia and Edison…

"A Criminal, a Whore, an Idiot and a Liar" - Changes continue to rock the White House, as we also flashback to learn more about the rigged election. Meanwhile, things get heated between Olivia and Edison after he makes a shocking accusation, on ABC's Scandal, THURSDAY, JANUARY 17 (10:02-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

An accusation? Kind of like, "You're the President's mistress"? Is that maybe what that means? We'll find out next week. Either way, things seem to be crumbling for those two.
