Scandal Season 3, Episode 5 Preview: More Cattle, Less Bull

Isn’t Scandal especially suspenseful when Olivia’s in a situation that puts her up against the President? Based on the promo for Thursday night’s “More Cattle, Less Bull,” it looks like that’s what’s happening, as Lisa Kudrow returns to her role as Congresswoman Josephine Marcus, a woman who could pose a threat to the president’s chances of getting reelected, especially if Olivia is at effective at helping this woman’s campaign as she was with helping Fitzgerald. Well, minus the rigging. It seems doubtful that she’ll engage in something quite as scandalous this time around.

Last week, Cyrus and his guy dug up some dirt on Marcus, in the form of a rumor that she may have abandoned a baby at a hospital when she was fifteen years old. The preview for this week’s episode indicates that Olivia’s going to be helping her deal with this scandal. And this just so happens to be taking place not long after Fitz called Olivia while she was enjoying some wine time with Jake, so Olivia and Fitz are already on the outs. This can only add to the tension.

Here’s the description for this week’s episode.

"More Cattle, Less Bull" -The team investigates Democratic Congresswoman Josie Marcus, while Olivia and Mellie have a surprising run-in during the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Meanwhile, Jake and Huck get closer to the truth about Operation Remington, which could lead to devastating results, on ABC's "Scandal," THURSDAY, OCTOBER 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of information Jack and Huck learn about Operation Remington. I hope it’s worth the suspense! Meanwhile, the photos from the episode and some glimpses of the above preview indicate a dress-up affair. And as always, Olivia looks gorgeous. The photos also tease the Democratic Presidential Debate, in which Marcus is participating, along with Governor Samuel Reston, Fitz’s former campaign rival. Will he be facing off with either of these two in the next election? Seems like a good possibility. Check out more photos from the episode in the gallery below. And be sure to tune into Saturday Night Live this week to see Kerry Washington host for the first time!
