Scoundrels Watch: That's the Way the Money Goes
Things are not well in Westland. Cheryl has not been able to keep a job for more than a week, so when her neighbor, Casey offers her a partnership in her struggling Lingerie business she jumps at the opportunity. But just when things look like they'll work out. Casey's drug dealing Husband takes the money they've earned and swindles it away. So a very pissed off, and frustrated Cheryl goes on the hunt for the dealer that has her money.
Heather like her mother never gives up, and just like her mother she can't seem to hold down a job. After her stripping career is forcefully halted, Heather finds herself entertaining people in a different manner when she is hired as a Mermaid for a high-end restaurant. As she lay by the Sushi flaunting her flippers, she is approached by Grant, an aging TV star who promises her a job as a side-kick on his upcoming travel show. As they sit in his car discussing Heather's future, things get physical between the two.
Logan it seems still has feelings for Patty, and starts to second guess his relationship with Valerie. To make matters worse he is still struggling with the fact that Wolf no longer wants to see him after he found out that Logan is no longer working on his case. After a chance meeting with Patty, the two rekindle their relationship. Unfortunately Valerie is there to witness the whole thing, and she leaves Logan with a empty bed and a bill for all the tutoring she gave Logan so he could pass the Bar.
Heather and Grant's romantic moment is interrupted by those pesky paparazzi, and the next morning her ass (which is in Grant's lap) is plastered all over the tabloids. Hope seeing an opportunity to exploit the misfortune of her sister, sets up an interview with a magazine after she learns that Grant not only lied about the job to get with Heather, but that he also lied about being single. After a very wordy interview, beautifully written by Hope and a few racy photos appear all over the web. Heather is sure she will land more jobs, but she soon finds Grant at her door professing love for his mistress.
Cheryl locates the dealer that has her money, and foolishly decides to confront the man at his home. But before she can ring the doorbell she is tackled into the bushes by Sgt. Mack who informs Cheryl that she has stumbled into a drug bust. Cheryl learns that her money was used to buy a very large quantity of Cocaine and that she has no hope of getting her money back. But all is not lost, she borrows money from Logan and saves her business. Later that night however Sgt. Mack appears at the The West's doorstep to give Cheryl her money and the two exchange glances that seem to indicate the two may have feelings for each other.
I really like the fact that they have heightened the sexual tension between Sgt. Mack and Cheryl. It is very obvious that Cheryl is not in love with Wolf anymore, and that in trying to be good she has grown up and is not the woman she used to be. They have also created family tension with Wolf and Logan that I think will play out rather nicely in later episodes.
They have managed to work Wolf into the plot rather nicely, and they figured out the technical aspects of how to get Cal and Logan to interact with each other, which I would like to see more of to be honest. With only two more episodes left in this season, I am expecting things to get a lot worse, and it should be really fun to watch.
