Series Finale of Drive Set To Air This Week - UPDATED
Remember that drama that FOX premiered back in April about the seemingly random group of people who embarked upon a cross-country road race in the hopes of winning a cash prize and some other incentives? The one they cancelled after four episodes due to less than desirable ratings? In case you missed it or your memory is fuzzy, it was called ‘Drive.’ Anyway, the network has decided to air the final two unaired episodes either this week or next week.
Maybe I just missed them but I don’t recall seeing any kind of announcement or commercial advertising this. Sure, the series premiered and ended months ago but it would’ve been nice for a little heads up from FOX after they dropped the show on us. As the final two episodes are scheduled to air this Wednesday at 8 p.m., it’s probable that the network just needed something to fill the primetime block. Rather than airing ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ on Independence Day when most people will have better things to do, the network decided to go through the trash and pull out anything that could fill the two-hour slot. Regardless of what the network’s reasoning is, those of us who thought ‘Drive’ was a worth watching show will be able to get one final taste of the series before its officially gone.
If you’re anything like me, you’re marginally interested in catching these final two episodes. If that’s the case, you’ll probably need a refresher course on what happened in the first four episodes. FOX has recaps of all the episodes on their website here.
Update:
It appears there’s a bit of confusion as to when the final two episodes will air. The ‘Drive’ website now lists them as scheduled for Friday, July 13th at 8:00 p.m. but if you look at the full schedule on FOX’s website, they’re still listed for July 4th at 8:00 p.m. It’s possible that FOX hasn’t decided what will air on the 4th. Either way, if you’re really intent on seeing the final two episodes of ‘Drive,’ its probably best to set your DVR for the July 4th just in case.
