Seth Meyers' The Awesomes, Mascot Docu-Series And More To Premiere On Hulu

Hulu’s been working hard to beef up its original content, and 2013 looks to be a good year for the company and its subscribers. The service has plans to premiere a slew of new programs in the coming year and at the forefront of these is Hulu's first ever animated comedy, The Awesomes, and a documentary series about mascots called Behind the Mask.

The Awesomes is a new animated program for adults that was created by SNL’s Seth Meyers alongside Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’s Michael Shoemaker. Premiering in the summer of 2013, The Awesomes will follow an unusual and under-qualified superhero duo, 1/2 of which will be voiced by Meyers. You can check out the first trailer for the series, below, or head over to Hulu for more information.

Behind the Mask will follow four different mascots for various teams working at different levels. Emmy-winning filmmaker Josh Greenbaum is behind the lens for this original series, which will look into the lives of a high school and college mascot, but also a mascot working in a minor league as well as for an NBA team. No premiere date has officially been set for this series, but TV Blend will keep you posted when Behind the Mask gets an official date. Until then, you can catch the trailer for that series, as well.

Ten episodes of both The Awesomes and Behind the Mask are set to be produced and will join other new Hulu content including spy drama The Wrong Mans, set to premiere in summer 2013, Paris police drama Braquo, which premieres on the service on January 22, and Mother!, another animated series starring Eva Langoria that will premiere in the fall of 2013. TV Blend will keep you posted when more news concerning Hulu’s new fodder wafts our way.
