Sheen Goes Behind ABC's Back, Gives NBC Interview Too
For whatever reason, we tend to be on the side of business whenever someone gets fired. Being laid off is a different matter, but when someone gets shitcanned, we automatically assume it’s his or her fault. Were you late to work? Were you a bad employee?. These are the questions we naturally ask; so, if a person really does get screwed, it’s important to maintain as much credibility before explaining why you were wronged. After a barrage of wild comments and a stay in rehab, Charlie Sheen’s credibility is already at an all-time low. This doesn’t help.
This past weekend, the actor agreed to an exclusive interview with ABC News to explain exactly why it was unfair producers used his behavior to force Two and a Half Men into hiatus. They put together promos, organized a special 20/20 episode devoted to the drama, and are now reeling after Sheen went behind their backs and gave another interview to NBC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC’s sit down will air tomorrow morning at 7:30 on Today, meaning it will get there some thirty-six odd hours ahead of ABC’s.
There’s no question ABC’s ratings will be affected by this breach in etiquette, but with interest in the troubled actor soaring, people will still tune in to 20/20. I’ll probably watch both, if only because I need an explanation for that Vatican Assassin Warlock comment.
