Sons Of Anarchy Scores Big Ratings For Season 4 Premiere
FX’s drama series Sons of Anarchy has cause to celebrate. The biker-drama earned itself its largest audience ever for its fourth season premiere. And what a fantastic start of the season it was, as you may already know if you caught the 90-minute premiere last night.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Sons took in nearly 5 million total viewers last night, 3.22 million of which fell into the 18-49 age bracket, which is up 15% from the Season 3 premiere. The episode, which saw many of the guys from SAMCRO leaving prison and returning to Charming fourteen months after Season 3 left off, ran an extra half-hour, ending with a conclusion that was as chills-inducing as the opening scene, although for different reasons.
The ratings boost is certainly good news, and I’m wondering if Netflix is at least part of the reason the series is growing more popular. The first two seasons were made available on Netflix’s streaming service, allowing people like me, who hadn’t been watching regularly before, to get caught up on the series over the summer. Regardless of the reason, hopefully as many, if not more people tune in for the second episode of Season 4 next week.

Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX.
