Spartacus War of the Damned Clip Teases A New Rebel With A Cause
The promo for the next new episode of Spartacus War of the Damned gave us a glimpse of more conflict between the Romans and Spartacus' army. We can hardly consider that a major spoiler, considering the titled "war" involves both sides. But the clip we have to show you from this week's "Decimation" reveals a very interesting twist on an otherwise typically violent scene from the series. So consider yourself spoiler warned!
When I began watching the clip below, I wondered why Starz chose to release this snippet from the episode. It begins with Spartacus and his army fighting the invading Romans. We saw a bit of that fight in the promo for the episode, so the new attack isn't brand new information leading into this week's episode. And sure, violence and bloodshed are big selling points for Spartacus. A reminder of that never hurts (except for the people on the pointy end of the swords), but there's more to this clip than just a bunch of fighting.
Well, isn't that an especially attractive and enthusiastic blond rebel? It looks like Caesar has found his own strategy for taking down Spartacus. The question is, what is his next plan after presumably infiltrating Spartacus' camp (and charming the pants off everyone with that smile of his)? Is he there to gather information as part of a plot for a bigger attack? (I'm flashing back to Lucy Lawless in Battlestar Galactica!) Or does he plan to attempt to take Spartacus out while he's inside? We'll have to wait and see how this plays out. Spartacus: War of the Damned's "Decimation" airs this Friday night at 9:00 p.m. on Starz.
