Star-Crossed And The 100 Premiere Dates Set On The CW's 2014 Midseason Schedule
When it comes to new dramas, the CW held a couple back at the start of the 2013-2014 season. Sci-fi dramas The 100 and Star-Crossed were both reserved for midseason, and you’ll see them among the shows scheduled to air this winter. While alien-Romeo & Juliet drama Star-Crossed will arrive in February, The 100-Games is set for a March debut to air behind Arrow. Also on the schedule is the return of Whose Line Is It Anyway. The improv comedy series comes back for its second cycle (of its current incarnation, anyway) in March.
The schedule the CW passed along to us threw me off a bit as it looked like Star-Crossed was the first show to air new episodes on the network in the new year, and some shows are missing. Then I realized that it doesn’t include the post-hiatus return dates for their currently-airing series. Some returning shows are on there, but they may be listed specifically to note where the new series are scheduled in relation to the returning shows, or in the case of a couple of series, timeslot changes later in the season.
But CW does have return dates posted on their sites so before we get to the new schedule, lest there be any confusion over when certain shows are airing new episodes, here are the post-winter-hiatus premiere dates for currently airing shows: Beauty and the Beast’s return is Monday, January 13, and the same for Hart of Dixie. The Originals and Supernatural return January 14. The Tomorrow People returns Wednesday, January 15, along with Arrow. The Carrie Diaries wraps up December 20 and is back fairly quickly for its second half on January 3. And The Vampire Diaries and Reign both break after tonight’s episodes and return January 23.
Now here are the rest of the dates, starting with Star-Crossed, a drama about a girl who falls for one of the aliens who've taken residence on earth. And in March, there's The 100, a drama about a bunch of juvenile delinquents who are sent down to an abandoned Earth to see if the planet is habitable:
