Starz Sets Boss Season 2 Premiere Date, Spartacus Orders Limbs For Season 3
Starz’ returning series is getting an early start for its second season. The Kelsey Grammer starring drama premiered back in October. Starz has set the Season 2 premiere for the show, and it looks like fans will see Tom Kane back on the small screen this August.
Boss stars the Golden Globe-winning Grammer as Chicago’s mayor, Tom Kane, a powerful and intimidating man who’s trying to keep his degenerative brain disorder from becoming public knowledge. The drama follows Kane’s work and personal life, and the various interactions he has with his wife, daughter, and staff of mostly-trusted employees.
The second season will introduce Jonathan Groff, Sanaa Lathan, and guest star Tip Harris (a.k.a. T.I.) to the cast. Groff is set to play Ian Todd, an advisor to Kane, described as smart and ambitious. Lathan is set to play “Alderman Ross’ strong-willed and politically savvy Chief of Staff.” And T.I will be playing Trey, “a former gangbanger with designs on a career in City Hall.” Also set to guest star this season is Amy Morton, who’s playing a senator with her eye on becoming the governor.
Per Starz’ announcement today, Season 2 will premiere on Friday, August 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
And in news related to Starz, here’s an amusing tidbit shared on the Spartacus facebook page today...
The limbs have been cast! Call me twisted, but this bit of news made me smile... and appreciate my arms and legs just a little bit more.
