Swayze Cast In A New Drama Series

Nobody puts Swayze in the corner… but you can put him on A&E. Patrick Swayze, who is most known for playing the dreamy Johnny Castle in Dirty Dancing, the haunting Sam Wheat in Ghost or the ass-kicking Dalton in Road House, has been cast to star in a new A&E series called The Beast.

In The Beast, Swayze is set to star along side Aussie-native, Travis Fimmel. You might remember him as the hot blonde guy with the pouty lips from the CK “Crave” ads. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Beast centers on an unorthodox but effective FBI veteran (Swayze) who trains a new partner (Fimmel) in his hard-edged, psychologically clever style while being pursued by a secret Internal Affairs team.”

While IMDB states that Swayze’s been working here and there over the past few years, most of us probably consider him more of an 80’s icon than anything. Could this new series be his big comeback?

The pilot is set to be filmed some time before the end of this year and the network hopes to have it ready to premiere on A&E next summer.
