Syfy's Winter Slate Includes Merlin, Being Human And New Programming
Syfy is going hard and heavy with its winter programming slate. The network will introduce several new programs—mostly lower budget reality fodder—and will also be bringing back a slew of old favorites in January and February, as well as Haunted Collector, which will hit the schedule in March.
Syfy’s winter programming will begin just after New Year’s, with Season 5 of the popular fantasy program, Merlin, returning to the schedule. January 14 will be a big day for the cable network, with Season 3 of Lost Girl and Being Human premiering alongside the new series, Continuum, which is a police drama with a time traveling component. Reality series Face Off and Total Blackout will air on Tuesday, January 15, and the following evening will see Ghost Hunters return for Season 9. If the latter program is getting a little stale, Syfy is also introducing Ghost Mine on Wednesday nights, which will follow a haunted abandoned mine that is reopening for business. If one of your favorites hasn’t been listed yet, bear with me, because we are just now getting into February.
February doesn’t have a lot of original fodder, but it will be notable for two new original series. Robot Combat League--which I’ve been told is reminiscent of Battle Bots--will premiere on February 26. Rounding out February will be the new series, Stranded, which will follow paranormal and psychological experiments. That show will hit the schedule on February 27.
