TNT Orders More Southland, Picks Up Perception Starring Eric McCormack

If you’re a fan of TNT’s cop drama series Southland, there’s good news. The network announced today that they’re ordering up more as the show has been picked up for a fourth season. There’s also good news if you like Eric McCormack and/or quirky crime-solving procedurals. TNT also announced that they’ve given the green light for a new original drama series Perception.

Southland just finished up it’s third season earlier this month. Today TNT announced that they’ve ordered 10 more episodes for the cop drama, which saw a 6% increase in ratings from its second season. Southland, which stars Michael Cudlitz, Shawn Hatosy, Regina King and Ben McKenzie, originally aired on NBC but after the network cancelled it, TNT picked it up and has been running with it ever since, much to the delight of its devoted fans.

As for Perception, this original drama series will star the extremely talented Emmy Winner Eric McCormack as a neuroscientist who uses his expertise in analyzing human behavior to help solve complex criminal cases. Also among the cast are Rachael Leigh Cook, Arjay Smith, and Kelly Rowan. TNT gave the series a 10-episode order. More details on the plot and characters below:

In PERCEPTION, McCormack plays Dr. Geoffrey Pierce, an eccentric neuroscientist who uses his unique outlook and expertise to help the federal government crack difficult cases. Pierce’s intimate knowledge of human behavior and masterful understanding of the mind are matched by his equally odd and imaginative view of the world. Cook co-stars as FBI agent Kate Rossi, Pierce’s former student and the person responsible for recruiting him to work for the government. Smith plays Max Lewicki, Pierce’s teaching assistant who has spent nine years at college. Rowan is Natalie Vincent, Pierce’s best friend and every bit his intellectual equal.
