It’s the end of an era. That’s right, with TRL breathing its last breath this weekend, this must mean that pop music is over. Ok, that’s probably an exaggeration as pop music, however much it seems to evolve appears to have the shelf-life of a Twinkie but after viewing this promo for the grand TRL finale, appropriately titled Total Finale Live, it does sort of feeling like something in the world of pop music is being retired, making way for whatever’s next (FNMTV probably).
I feel old, mostly because when TRL first premiered, I was already too old to appreciate it. I was going through my I’m-too-cool-for-pop-music college rock band phase at the time. Anyway, MTV put together this little promo which recounts the general history of the series rather accurately.
Total Finale Live will air on MTV on Sunday (November 16th) at 8:00 PM ET.
