TV Recap: Big Brother 8 - Zach Has Great Power
We’re now down to the final four in Big Brother, and look who is STILL around. The Donatos are still standing tall; even after all of Evel’s tirades and Daniele’s numerous competition wins. If there’s one criticism that I have for Zach, it’s that he was an idiot for not using the veto on Thursday. But I have to give him a modicum of respect for sticking to his word, even though he gave it to some treacherous people. Still, he’s made it to the final four and Zach, Jameka, Daniele, and Dick prepare to battle it out for final two.
I could have sworn the first twenty minutes of this episode was a recap of Thursday’s episode. Now, there was a lot to go over from just a few days ago, but that was ridiculous. It did give us a frame of reference for the rest of the episode, so it wasn’t completely wasted time.
The latest HoH competition was all about pictures. The houseguests were given the opportunity to study the new pics up on the memory wall. Dick leads everyone outside and starts up the game. The goal is simple, answer a question about the pictures correctly and you move up a step. The first to reach the top, at 7 questions, wins HoH. Zach and Daniele reach the top together and have to go to a tie-break. “How many houseguests are there combined in the 14 memory wall pictures?” Daniele says 58, Zach answers 59. The answer is 69 (Dudes!) and Zach wins, causing Daniele to whine and sulk around the house.
When Dick and Daniele learn that Zach is going to nominate them instead of Jameka, as they had thought he would do, they attempt to talk him out of it. Daniele confronts him talking about how she and her dad protected him and he should somehow owe them. Both Donatos are ridiculously upset with what they see as Zach’s betrayal. Actually, they’re just mad because the control is not in their hands. Zach explains that he’s done what he has to in order to make it to final four, and now he has to make a play for final two. Daniele describes Zach as the friend who, when he calls, you let it go to voicemail. Wow, she sure is being forthright with her extreme bitchiness.
Zach makes up for his enormous Thursday mistake and nominates Dick and Daniele for eviction. Now it all comes down to the veto. If Zach or Jameka win then one of the Donatos is leaving, and I’d assume that to be Daniele. If Dick or Daniele win it’s going to be a Donato celebration for the finale of Big Brother 8.
