TV Recap: My Boys - Welcome Back, Kalla Fotter
Okay. It may be wrong to love a TV show but I can’t help it. I’m in love with My Boys and I’m not ashamed. Of course, those who have seen the show understand my infatuation. As for you others, after this season’s opener, there’s no way you won’t have a little crush, too. Sit down and prepare yourself for serious hilarity in the way of a mustache contest, a secret revealed and one still deeply hidden. Yay…My Boys is back.
Even though in real life it has been months since we left PJ and the boys, the brilliant minds running the show decided to let us pick up right where we left off (thank god). Bobby just told PJ he’s marrying the wrong woman and then saw his cute but still second best brother, Jack, in her room. Now, don’t get me wrong, I was all for Jack and PJ until there was finally a chance Bobby and PJ were into each other at the same time. Bobby’s feelings were kind of crushed, though, when he saw his brother and so he took off. PJ went after him but he said he was drunk and tired and didn’t know what he was saying. Still, it did give her quite a lot to think about so she told Jack that it was late and they should both just go to bed before anything else happens (because they didn’t do anything but kiss yet).
In the light of day, the wedding day no less, PJ is over the brother and he’s going back to New York anyway. When she finds the boys, Bobby and Elsa are in their room talking. Yup, not a good sign to be having a heated discussion on your wedding day. Meanwhile, the other boys are waiting outside the room trying to grow mustaches. Oh, you read right. I don’t remember where it started but for some reason, Mike said he could grow a better mustache than Kenny and Brendan. Seriously, who does that and then tells everyone when they ask what you’re doing that you’re having a mustache contest? Funny. And no, I’m not being sarcastic.
Everyone ends up outside Bobby’s room waiting to see what’s going to happen when the door finally opens and Elsa walks right past them. Bobby breaks the news that the wedding is off and they all go back to Chicago to their normal lives. Well, sort of. Bobby takes off on what would have been his honeymoon to Bora Bora. The mustaches are coming along well and Andy even stops by to join in poker but it’s not the same, especially since Andy really just sleeps through the whole thing because he has a new baby at home.
PJ is bummed so she turns to Stephanie, relationship guru, to help her get over Bobby, or at least figure out what to do about him. Stephanie says she’s crazy because this has been going on since she met Bobby and nothing good has ever happened. But PJ knows this time is different. Plus, if anyone knew about Stephanie’s secret rendezvous with her arch nemesis, Kenny, they wouldn’t trust her opinion anymore anyway. Seriously, I can’t wait for that to come out.
It’s been three weeks and the contest, which is to last a month, is almost over and still no Bobby. PJ is ready to give up on him when through the door bursts a scruffy boy ready to play some poker. He looks good with some scruff. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the other three and their ‘staches. You need to check out some pictures of these guys because, apparently, these are the actors’ real mustaches they grew out just for this episode. And trust me, you will almost pee in your pants they look so crazy. But back to the real story.
The game is over and the boys are all leaving. There’s a moment between Bobby and PJ but it passes and you think the writers have been toying with you the entire episode. Then, when they’re alone, PJ busts out with the fact that she had so much to say on the Italy trip and she thinks Bobby wanted to say more at the ranch and well, she actually tells him she’s crazy about him. Seriously. I know, I should have warned you to prepare for a giddy little dance. She actually did something about this crush that’s been teasing us since the first episode. Imagine the possibilities. Now, imagine the real answer which was he scooped her up and kissed her in a way that would make even his lothario brother blush. So worth the wait. He confessed he’s crazy about her, too and all he thought about on his would be honeymoon was her. More kissing. Yay.

I have no idea where this is all going to go but I’m so excited I want to bro-high five the TV. Trust me, if you watched the show you wouldn’t think it was sad, you’d be waiting behind me to do the same thing. Can’t we just protest to keep this show on all year long?
