No Talk Show For Rosie

Well it looks like the MSNBC Rosie talk show isn’t going to happen. O’Donnell let it slip at a book signing in Miami earlier this week that she was in talks with the news network to set up her own nightly talk show. I guess Rosie spoke too soon because the deal fell through.

O’Donnell posted in her blog last night that the show isn’t going to happen, due in part to her blabbing about it. On her site, she said, “We were close to a deal. Almost done. I let it slip in Miami, causing panic on the studio end.” She went on to say, “2day there is no deal. Poof. My career as a pundit is over b4 it began.”.

So according to Rosie’s chat-speaky blog, the network panicked and pulled the deal from the table. But she failed to mention the money-factor. Sources close to the negotiations said that Rosie was apparently asking for a pretty high fee for the gig. Chances are, that had to factor into the deal’s collapse at least a little bit.
