Terra Nova Star Jason O'Mara Joins Dennis Quaid And Michael Chiklis In CBS Drama Pilot

Terra Nova fans still holding out hope that the Fox drama will find a home on another network may be disappointed to learn that yet another star of the series has moved on to a new project, and this time, it’s a big one. But this doesn't mean all hope is lost for Terra Nova!

Deadline reported that Terra Nova star Jason O’Mara has joined Dennis Quaid, Carrie-Anne Moss and Michael Chiklis in the untitled CBS drama pilot by Ralph Lamb. Written by Goodfellas’ Nicholas Pileggi and Greg Walker, the project is set in the 1960’s and tells the story of Ralph Lamb (Quaid), a former rodeo cowboy who’s now the Sheriff of Las Vegas. Chiklis is set to play Johnny Savino, a Chicago “mob fixer” looking to transform Vegas, and finds himself at odds with Lamb. O’Mara has been cast to play the sheriff’s younger brother Frank, “the diplomat in the family.”

O’Mara isn’t the first Terra Nova cast member to move on from the Fox series since its cancellation. Allison Miller and Christine Adams have both found work on television elsewhere. However, like Miller, O’Mara’s casting in the CBS drama is in second position to Terra Nova, meaning if another network decided to pick up Terra Nova for its second season, O’Mara would return to the drama to resume his role as Jim Shannon, which is probably a good thing as he’s one of the main characters on the show. ?
