Cougar Town’s upcoming fourth season on its new network will see a visit from a familiar face to those who love Hitchcock films. The Birds star Tippi Hedren will be guest starring on an episode of the comedy, which will be debuting on TBS in the new year.
Hedren rose to fame after she appeared in two Alfred Hitchcock films, The Birds for which she took home a Golden Globe, and Marnie. Although she’s been working steadily since then, she will forever be known for being one of Hitchcock’s favorite blondes, with whom he became somewhat obsessed. Her relationship with the director was recently the subject of HBO’s film The Girl in which Sienna Miller played Tippi. Hedren’s most recent TV credit prior to this appearance was a guest spot on Raising Hope this year. She also played a recurring role on the short-lived series Fashion House back in 2006.
Cougar Town is gearing up to launch Season 4 after being dropped by ABC. There’s no details at the moment on what role Hedren will play on the comedy that stars Courteney Cox as a recently remarried mom who is known for enjoying her wine, nor do we know when to expect her episode to air. Cougar Town will be premiering with something to prove in its new home, after a rocky ride through some uncertainty as to its future. TBS seems pretty confident in the show though, and fans are likely to follow it.
New episodes of Cougar Town premiere January 8th at 10 p.m. ET on TBS.
