Trachtenberg And Rajskub Sign On For CBS Pilots

I just finished expressing enthusiasm at the news that Kevin Dillon was cast in a CBS pilot and now there’s more great news for the comedy How to Be a Gentleman, as 24’s Mary Lynn Rajskub has been cast alongside Dillon and David Hornsby. Meanwhile, set to join a different CBS pilot is Michelle Trachtenberg.

Earlier we posted the news that Kevin Dillon was cast to star opposite Hornsby in the buddy-comedy CBS pilot How to Be a Gentleman. According to Deadline, Rajskub is now signed on as well, playing Hornsby’s character’s aggressive attorney sister. Rajskub’s likely to be known to many for her role as the uptight tech-wiz Chloe, but she’s no stranger to comedy. Not only does Rajskub do stand-up, but she’s also appeared in some great comedy series, including It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Modern Family and most recently, Raising Hope. Her involvement in Gentleman is one more reason I hope this series gets picked up.

Meanwhile, in other CBS comedy pilot news, Michelle Trachtenberg (Mercy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has been cast in Peter Knight’s comedy pilot. Adam Sandler’s production company Happy Madison is involved in this project, which is described as a workplace comedy about a bunch of young professionals at a venture capital firm. Trachtenberg is set to play Gracie, the recently promoted crush of lead character Danny.

Trachtenberg’s had quite a few notable roles since her Buffy days, but I still think of her as Buffy’s little sister Dawn. I’m actually having a flashback of one of her Dawntrums right now. (“Get out! Get out! Get out!”) I like the idea of her in a comedy, so we’ll have to see if this pilot works out.
