True Blood Season 5 Gets An Explosive New Trailer

At long last, after teaser posters, teaser videos, behind-the-scenes videos and most recently, a whole set of character posters, we finally have a trailer for the fifth season of True Blood and oh-boy does it give us a look at the action! Danger and drama are most certainly ahead… Also spoilers so stop reading here if you don't want to know anything about the new season!

HBO just released this trailer, which begins by reminding us of the agony Sookie was in at the end of Season 4 when Tara took the bullet meant for Sookie from an enraged Debbie. After the character posters included one for Tara, I'm thinking/hoping that means she'll be back in some form or another in Season 5. Unfortunately, I don't see her in this trailer, but there's a lot going on so maybe I missed her.

What did we grab from all of that? Bill and Eric roping Sookie into something possibly dangerous (possibly having to do with Russell?). Was Sookie about to kiss Alcide? I think she's due for a romance with him now that she's supposedly done with Bill and Eric. Lafayette appears to have some kind encounter with the scary painted face guy. Chris Meloni's vampire character is clearly in a position of authority. Jessica seems to be up to no good. I think mischief suits her. And Reverend Newlin seems to be embracing vampire-life and wants to farm humans. Also, stuff blew up.

But what does it all mean? We'll have to wait until June 10th for the Season 5 premiere to find out!
