Twilight's Billy Burke Joins Revolution Pilot At NBC
And Billy Burke makes three - Twilight stars to pick up new pilot roles in the past week or so. He’s actually one I can say I’m happy to see nabbing a potential regular TV gig, as he has been one of the bright spots in the sea of bad acting that comprises the Twilight movies. Burke is headed to NBC’s drama pilot Revolution.
Deadline reports that Burke has been cast in the Jon Favreau directed action project Revolution. He’s set to play a Marine who is among a group of people trying to find their loved ones and find a way to survive when all sources of energy in the world have for some reason disappeared from existence. The casting for this project has definitely peaked my interest, already on board is Breaking Bad regular Giancarlo Esposito.
Billy Burke is known as Bella Swan’s dad Charlie in the Twlight saga, but he’s had some television experience. He did a multi-episode arc on My Boys and more recently had a three episode role on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles. He is the latest in a group of Twilight actors to sign on for a pilot this season. Just a few days ago Rachelle Lefevre was cast as the lead in Applebaum, the plot of which is my personal pet peeve for the season. And Ashley Greene picked up a major role in the ABC project Americana less than a week ago. Is the Twilight move to television complete with the trio or can we expect more of the stars to show up in new projects?
