Two And A Half Men Goes On Hiatus While Charlie Sheen Is In Rehab

The latest update on Charlie Sheen and the reported substance abuse issues will affect fans of Two and a Half Men. CBS reported today that the series is going on a production hiatus.

According to TVLine.com, Sheen’s rep announced that the celebrity and star of CBS hit comedy Two and a Half Men has voluntarily checked himself into a treatment center. This news follows yesterday’s report that Sheen was hospitalized for “abdominal pain.”

CBS’ responded with the following statement.

“Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing Two and a Half Men on production hiatus. We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision”

While the hiatus is unfortunate for fans of the series as it may mean a major gap between new episodes (or possibly an unfinished season), depending on how long it takes for Sheen to complete treatment, I’d say this is good news if it means he’s getting the help he needs.

At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way).
