Ugly Betty Moving To Wednesdays In 2010
Things are looking up for Ugly Betty. While the series continues to suffer in the ratings thanks to ABC tucking it away on Friday nights, the network has decided to move the series to Wednesdays, starting in 2010.
E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos posted the update stating that while the writers and producers have accepted that the network still might cancel the show after this season, starting in 2010, Betty will be airing on Wednesday nights in Eastwick’s old timeslot. That’s 10:00 p.m. EST. With shows like The Middle and Modern Family already set up on Wednesdays, Betty should be a good fit to follow that block.
I consider this to be excellent news, not only because a move to Wednesdays could be the only thing that could save the series but also because when I heard that Wednesday night might be the new home for the show, I feared ABC would put it on against Fox’s musical-comedy series Glee. As I doubt I’m alone in being a huge fan of both shows, I’m not only relieved to know they aren’t going up against each other but now Wednesday nights just got a lot more fun!
For those of you who are keeping up with Betty this season, tomorrow (Friday, December 4th) is the big Bahamas episode. Below are a couple of clips from the episode, both of which center on the love triangle between Betty, Matt and Amanda. And if you haven’t been keeping up with the series this season, Hulu has most of the episodes available to view.
