VH1 Cancels Chad Johnson And Evelyn Lozada's Planned Reality Series
After Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Evelyn Lozada were married on July 4, VH1 had plans to follow the newlyweds via an unscripted series during their early months of marriage. The new series, Ev and Ocho, was scheduled to premiere early next month, but with a slew of bad press following the domestic abuse charges and subsequent arrest of the former football player, the network has decided to curb the series.
On Saturday, Lozada allegedly confronted her new husband after finding a receipt for condoms. In any relationship where condoms aren’t the norm, this would probably spark an argument; however, Johnson apparently took that argument too far, headbutting his wife and leaving a 3-inch laceration on her head. Lozada was able to make an escape from the house and call the police, and a short time later Johnson was taken to jail, where he was held until Sunday.
In the past 24 hours, things have taken a turn for the worse for Johnson, despite the football player sticking to the story that it was his wife who “headbutted him.” After Johnson spent a weekend in jail, he was fired from the Miami Dolphins. According to THR, this means the player is subsequently going to miss out on filming a new Hard Knocks special highlighting the team on Showtime. Now, with VH1—the network who aired the man’s wedding—also turning its back, Johnson has pretty much been left out in the cold. We’ll have to wait and see if his wife follows suit.
