Vh1 Classic Lines Up 2009 Videos To Kick Off The New Year

If I told you that I didn’t just spend the last three hours of my life watching most of the marathon of Vh1’s Greatest Songs of the 90’s that my Tivo recorded for me, I’d be lying. If there’s one thing VH1 knows how to do, it’s compile a list of awesome songs that showcase everything that’s great about music. So I’m actually pretty excited to check out the marathon Vh1 Classic has set to premiere on New Years Day.

When the clock strikes Midnight (eastern time), Vh1 Classic will begin 2,009 for 2009 Music Video Marathon. Here’s what the network released about it:

“Vh1 Classic kicks off 2009 in a big way with their 2,009 For 2009 Music Video Marathon. Join Mark Goodman as he attempts the unthinkable – a marathon of Vh1 Classic’s 2,009 favorite videos. Mark will ring in the New Year at 12-midnight with the first video on our countdown, “1-2-3” by Gloria Estefan and close things out seven days later with David Bowie’s “Ziggy Stardust”…leaving you ready to take on 2009 with all your Classic favorites: Van Halen, Madonna, Guns N’ Roses, Duran Duran, Cyndi Lauper and more.”

It’s a good thing most of the good shows are on hiatus. This marathon looks like the ultimate in music video time suckage.
