Wahlberg And Leguizamo Get More Action On Spike TV
Spike TV is a network that prides itself on being manly. But did you know that this network has more to offer than just Rocky marathons? Right now, they’re running what they call an “eight-hour event” (which on any other network might be referred to as a mini-series) titled ‘The Kill Point,’ which is said to appeal to fans of the FOX action series, ’24.’
‘The Kill Point’ stars comedian-slash-actor, John Leguizamo and the other Wahlberg brother. You know, the one who was once part of a musical group whose name I wont even mention because I actually respect Donnie Wahlberg as an actor. In fact, just ignore that last description and instead, remember him from his role as Lt. Lipton in HBO’s ‘Band of Brothers’ or the creepy guy who shot Bruce Willis in The Sixth Sense.
‘The Kill Point’ focuses on a bank robbery that goes very wrong. Leguizamo plays “Mr. Wolf,” the head bank-robber who leads a group of military vets on a bank robbery in Pittsburgh. Wahlberg plays Horst Cali, the Pittsburgh Police Department Hostage Negotiator. When things go wrong during the robbery, Mr. Wolf tries to avoid arrest by taking hostages. Meanwhile, Cali works on the other end, trying to defuse the situation.
The first episode of ‘The Kill Point’ aired on July 22nd so if you haven’t had the chance to check out the series, you’re about three episodes behind. Spike TV does have a bunch of video content on their website, which includes clips from the previous episodes, webisodes, behind the scenes footage and more information about the show. If Spike TV has any plans to re-air the pilot, they haven’t announced it yet but its likely that you’ll find that info on the website if/when they do decide to let potential viewers get caught up. The series is available for download on iTunes for $1.99 per episode or $13.99 for the seasons pass.
In the meantime, here’s a little ‘Kill Point’ flash-game:
‘The Kill Point’ airs Sundays at 9:00 p.m. EST on Spike TV
