Walters Gives Hilton Middle Finger

The hoopla surrounding a potential post-jail Paris Hilton interview reached a near-frenzy the last few days with media reports that NBC was ready to fork over one million dollars for the exclusive.

Apparently these seven digit bids were either exaggerated or fabricated because NBC soon denied the report, ultimately deciding not to accept the one-on-one at all. Speculation then fell upon close Kathy Hilton friend, Barbara Walters and an ABC sitdown. The aging journalist asked for some time to think it over; however, Paris Hilton, in some pathetic and desperate publicity attempt, phoned Walters at 2 A.M. from her cell pleading for a finalized agreement. I’m not sure why she’s allowed to make rash calls from jail, but I’m sure the warden knows what he is doing. Maybe.

It now appears that Walters has officially turned down the heiress, leaving her with one option: Larry King. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the bespeckled journalist will devote his entire hour to Hilton on June 27th. Woohoo! How much did the multiple-divorcee end up shelling out? Nothing. That’s right: zero. So to recap: in three days bids plummeted from an astounding million dollars to zilch. I can only speculate that none of the four major networks were willing to admit that they were paying her. Finally, some sense.
