Watch The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik And Johnny Galecki Relive Their Kiss From Blossom
Over on The Big Bang Theory, the current season has been one where the show’s central relationships all took huge steps forward, with Leonard and Penny getting married and Sheldon and Amy having sex. But before all that happened, stars Johnny Galecki and Mayim Bialik once shared an on-screen kiss on the latter’s sitcom Blossom nearly 25 years ago, and they both recalled and relived the kiss during tonight’s episode of Conan. Check it out!
Zowie! That was about as intense as things get on the Conan stage. What started as an innocent trip down memory lane for the two actors ended in the most raunchy kiss to ever..well, okay, it really wasn’t all that raunchy. But it was certainly more down and dirty than the original smooch on Blossom. And that Season 1 episode took place at a make-out party!
I actually thought that the picture of Mayim Bialik and Johnny Galecki – or Blossom and Jason, if you will – would be the best part about this particular interview direction, since it perfectly encapsulated both the awkwardness of teenage kisses on TV as well as the fashion of 1991. (Andy Richter pulled that out perfectly.) But no, a mere photograph could not possibly stand up to the television magic that was Bialik and Galecki swapping some stage spit as first requested by Kunal Nayyar. Relive it over and over for the rest of the night while making slobber noises!
I kind of want that moment to enter into a Big Bang Theory episode at some point, possibly during one of Sheldon’s more mystifying dream sequences. Maybe Bob Newhart could walk him through a nightmare where Leonard and Amy ended up together, and also apparently became famous enough to be interviewed on Conan. That’s the kind of thing that would happen the night before his and Amy’s wedding, assuming that ever actually happens.
It’s pretty awesome that this was the first screen kiss for both Bialik and Galecki, and that neither one of them could have dreamed they’d spend a large chunk of their adult years working together again on one of the most popular shows on TV. Now if only we could hear a story about how a teenage Jim Parsons and Melissa Rauch were on a show together where he got her pregnant.
The Big Bang Theory airs Thursday nights on CBS, while Conan airs Monday-Thursday nights on TBS.
