Watch Daredevil's Epic And Gritty New Trailers

There’s only one week left until Daredevil is released to the public on Netflix, giving us our latest live-action iteration of the blind superhero. Excitement for the series is already at an all-time high, but Marvel isn’t done yet with hyping it up. Netflix has released not one, but two new trailers that drive home the point further that darkness and grit are the major players in the upcoming superhero series. Take a look!

Although these trailers were first uploaded exclusively to Netflix, Comic Book Resources has gone ahead and edited them into one video for your enjoyment. There’s plenty to absorb in both Daredevil previews, from intense action sequences to personal moments between the titular character and his supporting cast.

The first trailer starts out with a young Matt Murdock training with his mentor Stick, played by Scott Glenn. Matt is already aware of his enhanced senses, but Stick is showing him how to use these “gifts” to fight back and give beatings of his own. Cut to the present-day Matt, who has put on a mask and is fighting crime in the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. As he tells Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple (who seems to know Matt is Daredevil), he’s just trying to make his city a better place. We also see newly-minted lawyer Matt with his partner Foggy Nelson, and by the time they meet a detained Karen Page, they have been practicing law for a whole seven hours! This is a Matt Murdock who has not only just begun his vigilante career, but his day job as well, and neither are going to be easy.

These trailers also give us our best look yet into Wilson Fisk, a.k.a The Kingpin’s, motivations in the series. In his eyes, the only way for his city to heal and be reborn is if it dies first. To do this, he has gained control of nearly everything in Hell’s Kitchen and use tear his influence and manpower to tear it down with force. While Fisk has a degree of respect for Daredevil (“I respect your conviction. The lone man who thinks he can make a difference.”), their methods are drastically different, which is why each man will do whatever it takes to ensure that the other doesn’t succeed in their mission. It looks like this will be one of the more interesting adversarial relationships in the MCU.

Your personal Daredevil binge watch can begin when all 13 episodes are released on Netflix on April 10.
